Following up from their sophomore single 'The Empress', Sydney based Australian horror-core band Ten Thousand Crows is releasing their new single 'The Moon', part three of the Macabre Arcana project, on the 17th of December.
The lyrics for the song were written by guitarist Jordan Hurst. “I generally like to write lyrics that are descriptive of a unique situation or scenario,” says Hurst, ‘but George (Mackenzie, vocals) really took them in a completely different, more personal direction which fed into the visceral delivery on this song.”
“I feel like 2020 was the year humanity got exposed,” says Mackenzie, “I’ve never felt so much rage and anger and hopelessness seeing how humans treat each other and the planet.” The Moon became an emotional outlet for vocalist Mackenzie, who also contributed the bulk of the music this time around. “How many times have you ever felt, I just wish all this unnecessary suffering could all end… This song is all about capturing that feeling.”
