In 2009, my husband and two children moved to the Desert (also called The Valley) from Illinois. We simply got tired of the brutal winters (shoveling snow....ice in some cases; warming your car up for 15 minutes; putting plastic over the windows to keep "The Hawk" out.....you Midwesterners know what I mean!). So we jumped on a plane...well, me and the kiddos jumped on a plane and my husband and his friend jumped in a moving truck....and we haven't looked back!
