Major General Md Sarwar Hossain is a research-driven retired General who is passionate about regional history, our independence war, military life covering its various facets to include training, operations, leadership and other aspects.
After his early education from Shaheen School Kurmitola & Adamjee Cantonment College, he joined the Bangladesh Military Academy and got commission in December 1986. He completed his Masters in Management from Hyderabad University, India and PhD(History) from Dhaka University.

Besides routine assignments, he gained unique experiences by training officers and men, destroyed insurgent hideouts and settled ethnic clashes in the CHT, resolved conflicts around demilitarised zones during UN missions and was involved in disaster management operations. With his varied experience and passion for R&D, he has a better understanding of issues.
