In a decisive move, the House voted to table the motion to vacate, with 11 Republicans, including Greene, supporting the attempt to proceed. However, strong backing from many Democrats enabled Johnson to overcome this challenge. The outcome of Wednesday's vote signifies a win for Johnson, sparing him from a fate similar to his predecessor Kevin McCarthy, who was ousted from the speakership in October.
It remains uncertain whether Greene or other critics of Johnson will push for another removal vote before the year concludes.
