Born and raised in Bohol, Philippines, an island province known for its Chocolate Hills and as hometown to the World's Smallest Monkey, Tonia grew up farming rice, bananas and coconuts.

Living on a rice paddy for much of her life, Tonia understands nature and the importance of eating well. She knows the ideal way to prepare food, ensuring it is as close to the source as possible, and is not only nutritious, but also explosive in taste.

Tonia has lived in various Asian countries and has prepared dishes for others while living in Manila, Singapore, Hong Kong and the US.

Tonia's Kitchen was created as a method of sharing her love for cooking with her friends and family around the world, who often ask how she cooks her food. Her hope is to be able to share a part of her with them and to cultivate love and awareness for her hometown and her beloved culture around the world.

Tonia is available for hire for both cooking lessons and to cook for small or large events.
