I recently posted a video titled “Why is it taking so Long? (Are there any blockages?)”. In one of the groups it was mentioned how emotions, even those that are often labeled as “negative” (i.e. sadness, fear, guilt etc.) serve a function. Thus, these so called “negative” emotions do not necessarily create blockages. It is labeling them as “negative” that does. Since we tend to resist, suppress and/or avoid that which we believe to be negative.
The following video I will share with you is from a series titled “How to Process Your Emotions” from the YT Channel "Therapy in a Nutshell". In this video Emma McAdams, creator of this channel, explains the difference between Primary and Secondary emotions. It takes a deeper look at how not ALL emotions are truthful nor helpful. As well as how not all emotions that we experience are a clear indicator of what we are truly feeling.
I found this video, as well as this series, quite interesting and insightful. In fact, her series has been greatly assisting me with better understand my emotions.
