BAVC Media is about video and a whole lot more. Launched in 1976 as a way to make emerging video technology accessible to independent makers, today, we are an evolving coalition of passionate creators, activists, and everyday people, effecting change one story at a time. We believe in:

Radical Access – BAVC Media is rooted in media justice. Everyone should have access to the tools, resources, and community necessary to create new narratives for themselves and their communities.

Collective Spirit – We believe in plurality – of voice, of identity, of perspective. We believe in the power of cultivating an ecosystem of media that authentically reflects the diversity and nuance of our community.

Participatory Media – Everyone should have the chance to be active producers and interpreters of media. Whether in an online course or an artist development cohort, at BAVC Media you will have an immersive, communal learning experience that encourages you to question and create.
