The Mental Perspective Project is something I created because mental health is a topic that is not discussed, especially in the black community. It’s almost as if it doesn’t really exist because it all takes place in the mind & is completely mental. In most cases, it’s a battle that doesn't show itself physically so it’s not seen as something people have to deal with on a daily basis.
Battling with my own mental struggles & witnessing the effects of what it has done to my friends & family has made this journey into this issue a personal mission & has created a deeper drive for me to do this project.
This project is giving a voice & putting a real face on mental battles that are seen as non-existent. I want this project to open up the conversation & begin to change the perception of mental health. But I don’t just want to talk about it, through this I want to find real holistic solutions to coping with it.
