Citihitz, the first satellite channel for film and film related entertainment programmes, was initiated in the year 2007 under the patronage of Dialog Television (Pvt) Limited.
The main objective of the channel, managed by OnAir World Ceylon (Pvt) Limited, is to cater all audience for teledrama, movie and its related entertainment and infotainment programmes with the goal of developing the knowledge to appreciate films among the local viewer ship. It is indirectly aimed at promoting the local film industry as well, at a time when it seems to have deteriorated.
However, taking into considaration the limited resources the management of CitiHitz has decided to multicast local films as well as teledramas adapted as tele films uninteruptedly. The channel also produced and multi casted interlude programmes to provide the latest happening and trends of the local film and teledrama business.
