When LGA (then Lucchesi, Galati Architects) sprang to life in 1986, we knew we wanted to be a different kind of firm, one with a larger purpose than simply putting boxes on sites. We just weren't sure how to go about doing it. Over the years, through a variety of obstacles and challenges, we've learned many lessons, some the hard way, and passed them along to our clients. And they, in turn, have passed their lessons back to us.

We've learned that working collaboratively with our clients is the best way to work. We've learned that listening with an open mind and asking the right questions brings more meaning to the project. We've learned that transformation takes place when we shift from the "what" to the "why."

Above all, we've learned that LGA is a consultancy that delights in practicing in the sweet spot where architecture, sociology and sustainability intersect. That's where the real work gets done; where caring, trust and mutual respect flourish. Whether we're helping clients pa
