Good old YouTube strikes again!
Someone saw an animation where a child gets violently struck by lightning and thought "Yeah it's for kids".
For now it appears that the comments section is locked. I am waiting for a response to my appeal, but my hopes aren't very high.
It hurts because I saw lots of comments talking about how they related to the story, and now those comments are gone.

So it looks like the trailer for Project Thundercloud Remake was hit by MFK.
Needless to say, I do not consider the subject matter of the animation to be meant for kids. It might be relatable to some, but this is meant for adults.

I plan on releasing a small video essay on the production of the animation alongside the final release so people have a place to comment on it in the eventual possibility that YouTube "manually" reviews my video as Made for Kids. Nothing too fancy, but I think you'll enjoy it.

Meanwhile the production continues, it certainly hits on the morale but I made a promise and I gotta deliver. If you want to give support, I have a Patreon I relatively often update with some nice exclusive previews you can take a look at.

And unless YouTube starts to label community posts as MFK, you can still comment here!

It looks like my worst fear has come true. YouTube decided to label Missing Out as "For kids", deleting all comments on the video and disabling a few features on it. My attempt to contest it failed, despite pointing out adults were the main audience, both from the theme of the project and YouTube's own analytics. The comments option is greyed out and no attempts have worked to bring it back.

I'll be honest, I don't know what to do. YouTube has been slowly making life worse for animators over the years, prefering extremely disposable content released often to meticulously crafted projects, shaping their algorithms over popular trends instead of proper topics, assuming any animation is "Kids content". It has been a uphill battle since I started in 2013.

Let's be clear, while all the previous actions were just giving less promotion, this right here is blatant censorship. This greatly limits discussions on animation and actively worsens the animation community as a result. They will ignore bullying, misinformation and hate speech yet discussions about wholesome animated characters are the ones getting banned.

It looks like my current plans for my next pony animation will have to be put on ice while I try sorting it out. I won't cancel all plans however, as I do have a parody project underway, but this does make me reconsider those projects.

This is heartbreaking, and YouTube is clearly hurting a lot of creators by doing that.

My BronyCon 2019 schedule!

Announcement!
I will be one of the community guests for BronyCon 2019!
BronyCon has been very important for me since 2013, the first brony convention I have ever attended.

Six years ago I decided to go to BronyCon 2013 and premiere Project Thundercloud there. While in retrospect it was a very awkward experience, it was the one event to convince me to take animation seriously and go study in the field.
I'll never forget in 2015 when we got front seats at the opening ceremonies, I was nervous but the cheer from the crowd as Good Morning Baltimare premiered was amazing. Making an animated project is something, but watching the reaction from people as they see it for the first time is something else.
I'll never forget in 2017 when I had my first date right after the con.
I'll never forget the laughs, the fun, the wonderful people I've discovered, the crazy interactions, the mindblowing creativity the fans showed.

Let's make BronyCon 2019 unforgettable.

Unfortunately, due to the end of the production of The Fall of Sunset Shimmer and moving out of my apartment, I couldn't make a nice little video to announce I would go to BABSCon 2019, so here's my schedule for the convention.

Saturday
Minty's Fan Animation Workshop
12:45-2:15 Solar Hall
Sunday
2D vs. 3D Ponies 5
11:30-1:15 Lunar Hall
Monday
How Not to Make a Fan Project
11:30-1 Solar Hall

I will also be part of the community guest meetup, from 4PM to 5:30PM on Sunday. If you want to be there you can sign up here. www.babscon.com/2019/events/silver-spans-salon/

I hope to see you there, and for those who miss the convention, I will make sure to film the panels and put them on YouTube.

Something I forgot to mention in the promo yesterday, for Ponyville Ciderfest I will showcase some new animation for The Fall of Sunset Shimmer, featuring some pretty interesting new techniques.
