Detroit Rising is a project inspired by DJ's, musicians & artists that were born in the fires of Parliament Funkadelic. Our journey starts in Detroit with Motown, a young man named George Clinton & an amazing guitarist called Prince.
The project was recorded live at United Sound Studios, Detroit. P-funk drummer Gabe Gonzalez, guitarist Duminie Deporres and bass guitarist Kern Brantley ( Mary J Blige, Beyonce) created new funky, soulful & jazzy tracks: "Little Bit", "Gorgeous", "Rocket Love". The project expanded to include more musicians from P-funk & Prince. New recordings were made in NY, LA, Vegas & the funk studios in Florida. Even Sue Ann Carwell from Prince was flown in for vocals.
Danny Bedrosian, keyboard player for P-funk is the first featured writer & performer. His song "Our World" includes P-funk Tonysha Nelson on vocals & "Benzel" on drums. Listen downjazz.com, or Apple or Spotify/detroit rising.
