My hometown is a small rural village at the foot of Myohyangsan Mountain in Pyeonganbuk-do, North Korea. At the age of five (1997), the whole family drifted across the Yalu River for seven years before being sent north from China to North Korea at the young age of 12. He was sent to North Korea and after all kinds of torture and hardships, he attempted to defect to South Korea in 2006.

Life in south Korea, which was discriminated against and ignored by the people of "North Korean defectors," was not easy. Then, I happened to hear the clear sound of the ocarina, and I felt that the hard times of the past were healed by the echo of the small instrument.

"Jeongwoo Kim" is a small ocarina made of soil that can comfort the pain of division.
It has a desire to connect cultural exchanges between the South and the North and the hearts of the Korean people.
