Educated at the University of Toronto with twenty-five years in private practice, Michael’s design experience includes new buildings and adaptive re-use of existing buildings, for assembly, institutional and commercial projects. Michael’s special interest is energy performance, room acoustics and noise control. Current work includes, a residential/industrial conversion, a new net-zero education centre, affordable housing, and co-working EnerPhit design projects in Oxford County. Collaborative work with other architects includes projects in China, Ireland and USA. Michael’s current thesis is the analysis of the design of ancient theatres, which has brought him to France, Italy, Greece and Turkey where he has studied and measured 41 existing theatres.
