Born in Moscow and raised in Alaska, Olga Bell is a prolific American composer, producer and electro-acoustic performer.
Her latest full-length album TEMPO (2016) was named one of the top 20 Pop/R&B albums of 2016 by Pitchfork, with its single “Randomness” landing on their list of the year’s top 100 songs. TEMPO was featured on NPR’s Weekend Edition Saturday and the album’s second video, a collaboration between Bell and digital artist Baku Hashimoto, premiered on VICE’s The Creators Project, who called the piece “surreal, dark and beautiful”.
Bell’s recent solo engagements include Lincoln Center’s American Songbook (2017) and tours across the USA and Europe with Jenny Hval, Floating Points, Empress Of, Jessy Lanza and Chairlift. Recent commissions include “Polyambient” (2016) for string quartet and spectral effects, premiered by ETHEL at National Sawdust in New York City.
