In professional terms, I live a few different lives. I’m an English professor. I teach literature, film, and cultural studies. I publish essays and books on posthuman theory, American Literature, and speculative fiction and film. I’m also a musician and music teacher. I write and record progressive rock music (typically released from Lion Music under the name Speaking to Stones), and I offer online and face-to-face music lessons. Sometimes, I write fiction. Sometimes, I write movies. Sometimes, I review movies and video games. For me, these professional activities are all part of the same life. They’re all done in the spirit of intellectual play and creative expression.
