Gavin Hickie is the Director of Rugby at the United States Naval Academy and creator of Rugby Revealed.
Gavin has spent his lifetime in rugby. Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, Gavin went on to play professionally for Leinster, Worcester and Leicester Tigers. A career-ending shoulder injury brought his journey to the US, where he has lived since 2011. Initially settling in CA, coaching Belmont Shore and the USA U20s before moving to Hanover, NH as the Head Coach of Dartmouth and the Collegiate All-Americans.
In 2017, Gavin was appointed as the first Director of Rugby at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, overseeing both men’s and women’s rugby.
Author of Rugby Revealed and creator of the Rugby Revealed podcast, Gavin has featured on CNN and in numerous publications including The Irish Times, The Rugby Site, The Irish Independent, Rugby Today and International Rugby Coaching.
