Indian Railways has been my fascination ever since I was a little kid. As retired journalist, I take time now to visit railway stations.
Indian Railways runs Fourth-largest railway network in the world by size, with a total route length of 126,511 km (78,610 mi) as of 31 December 2021.
Indian Railway (IR) runs more than 13,169 passenger trains daily, on both long-distance and suburban routes, from 7,325 stations across India.
Howrah Junction Railway Station is the busiest railway station in India. Gorakhpur Junction has the longest platform.
The slogan of Indian Railways is Lifeline of the Nation.
Railway stations in India has a life of its own. A railway station junction is like a mini vibrant town. It's impossible to personally visit each of the total number of the 7,000 railway stations. However, I will try to cover in my capacity as many in a year.
This is my small attempt. Please subscribe and like which will encourage me to go to far off stations to report. Thanks.
