United Way mobilizes communities to action so all can thrive. Since 1977, United Way of Sumner County has partnered with local businesses, schools, churches, government, community leaders, and non-profits to co-create solutions to people’s most pressing challenges. We take a comprehensive approach, listening and responding to local needs.
With our community partners, United Way of Sumner County creates pathways to better health, education, financial security, and community resiliency (crisis/trauma recovery.) Last year, over 4,300 struggling teens received free mental health counseling; almost 400 developmentally delayed preschoolers received intervention services; close to 50,000 hungry people were given groceries; almost 700 domestic violence victims received ongoing support after abuse; and nearly 2,000 calls for help were answered and provided with resources through our 2-1-1 call center.
