Caroline Kim and Trisha Mitra founded the Movement in fall of 1999. They started with a vision of bringing together a diverse group of people who shared the passion of dancing. What started with only 20 members now expands to over 120! Specializing in Jazz, Swing, and Hip Hop, The Movement prides itself on the diversity of style that is brings to the stage.

The Movement family shares our passions with the entire Berkeley community through performances on Upper Sproul, Lower Sproul, at cultural diversity fairs, student events, and at our own showcases in Julia Morgan Theater and Zellerbach Playhouse. With amazing talent and even better facials, Movement's Showcases have sold out every semester!

Even as the group continues to grow each semester, The Movement works to maintain a close, family environment that is supportive and fun to each member.
