Orlando-based Mezzo-Soprano, Michaela Wright’s, singing career has taken her around the world. She made her European debut with Opernfest Prague last Spring. More recently, she’s been seen as Hansel in Hansel and Gretel (Opera del Sol,) Baseball: A Musical Love Letter (Opera Orlando,) and as the Mezzo soloist in Handel’s “Messiah” (Orlando Choral Society.) She has also been seen as Stravinsky in Nathan Felix’s‘ No. 5 at Timucua Arts, as Sarah in Company and The Lady Chamberlain in Lori Laitman’s The Three Feathers. In recent years, has sung the roles of Orfeo in Gluck’s Orfeo Ed Euridice, The Fox in Janácek’s Cunning Little Vixen and Bianca in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia. Michaela holds a Master of Music in Opera Performance and Literature from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Jacksonville University. She currently studies privately with world-renowned Mezzo-Soprano, Michelle DeYoung.
