The Jungle Prada Site History Tour in St. Petersburg, Florida is an in-depth history tour featuring one of the best-preserved American Indian mounds in Florida. This cultural landmark is often recognized as the landing place of Panfilo de Narvaez and Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca in the year 1528. The survivors of the Narvaez Expedition walked from the Jungle Prada Site all the way to the Pacific Ocean over 8 years! Our history tour reveals information about the Tocobaga people, who dominated Tampa Bay at the time the Spanish arrived, and explores some of the native plants they would have used in their everyday lives. Tickets are available on our website. There are more than 50 semi-wild peafowl that call the Jungle Prada Site home.
