Biswas Records was an US-based Bengali music record company whose mostly digitally recorded (DDD) CDs have never been available to music lovers of Bengal and India. Dr. Atanu Biswas (Ph.D. in Chemistry, University of Notre Dame, Indiana, USA) and his wife Sheena Biswas founded Biswas Record in 1994 in USA at a time when the CD industry was at its infancy.
From 1992 to 2005 they produced over 200 Bengali and North Indian classical CD titles by eminent performers. In the history of Bengali music nobody, has been so effective in spreading Bengali music in USA and Canada. In recognition of Biswas Record's contribution to Bengali music, the North American Bengali Conference (NABC) twice awarded Dr. Atanu Biswas its highest award at Banga Sammelan in San Francisco (1999) and in Detroit (2007) along with actor Prosenjit Chatterjee, director Rituparno Ghosh, actor Sandhya Roy etc.
