Joong Ang Music Concours is the "Living History of Korean Classical Music"
Established in 1975 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the JoongAng Ilbo, the Joongang Music Competition celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2024. It is firmly established as the best music competition in terms of authority, number of participants, and level of prize winners.
JoongAng Music Competition, which started with five categories of piano, violin, cello, composition, and vocal music, has been held since 1989 with separate male and female vocal divisions, and has been held biennially since 2001 for clarinet and flute.
