Born in Kangar, Perlis, Daniel Ooi has been dabbling in photography for more than 18 years. His love for photography led him to work part time at a colour lab back home when he was only 15. It is then that he gained more knowledge in printing, developing films and proper shooting methods.

After graduating from high school, he jumped into a full-time job at a bridal house in Penang as an assistant photographer. Two year later, he was employed at a bridal house in Johor and by 2010, he opened his own studio, Daniel Ooi Fine Art Gallery.

Daniel honed his skills in both digital and film photography, winning him many international accolades, making him a sought after talent. He now conducts photography classes and trainings in various organisations. Heβs also an appointed State Liaison of the NIKON Club Malaysia as well as a WPPM Johore Ambassador. He has also been honoured with the prestigious Licentiate from the Masters Photographers Association, UK.
