Dan and Jez grew up in the shadow of Woolwich Arsenal as accidental Catholics when their parents wanted to get them into Notre Dame Catholic primary school. Jez became an enthusiastic Altar Boy at nearby St Joseph's where older brother Dan was head chorister, resulting in a shared love of ritual, poetic language, dressing up and acapella singing. However instead of benefitting from a strict education designed to teach them morals (humility, wisdom etc), in their early teens Dan and Jez became ne'er-do-wells stealing DVDs and old VHS tapes from local charity shops to pore over at night after their parents were asleep. Thus they acquired their second abiding love - of technicolor, 60s American culture, and the wisecracking verbal gymnastics that can be heard in their debut single "Cincinnati Jump" due for release this Spring on their own label Holy Roman Recordings.
