Adjunct Professor, Francie Dillon is recognized nationally for her efforts in education and the performing arts. In 2012 she won Arts Educator of the Year. Her efforts in promoting language, literacy and the art of storytelling has reached over 125,000 elementary students regionally and thousand's of children and families in city libraries statewide. Her early childhood language and literacy program received national attention, reaching 5,000 young children and parents annually. In 2010, Francie, in cooperation with CSUS Academic Technology and Creative Services, and El Dorado County First 5, wrote, performed and produced a How to Read Aloud DVD that was distributed to home day care sites and educators. Making course material more tangible and less abstract, Francie draws on practical and classroom experience for her Literature for Children's course.
