If anyone was interested, here are some of my design headcanons for Odysseus and Eurylochus, specifically in my luck runs out animatic!
For both, I dressed them in blue since Ithaca is a port city, so I imagine them in colors to represent that aspect, having them wear similar colors that represent their homeland.
Eurylochus, as the stern second in command, I imagine him as presenting himself more as a soldier than as a sailor, so his attire is a lot more like armor. His toga is also longer and has a bit more cloth than Odysseus's, but his is well worn and the dye is getting bleached out. His sandles are also taller, to mimic greeves! And he has a single paldrin, since Jorge mentioned he had a single shoulder pad (I stylized it less like Cloud's to look more Grecian) : > I decided to make Eurylochus's features rounder, both bc of his VA and because I wanted him to look a little more sympathetic, especially in this song. That's the same reason I made his eyes big and round, and colored the whites in at some points. It also made it easier to read his horror when Odysseus chastises him.
As for Odysseus, his attire is a lot more comfortable. The war is over! They're going home! Also, he's not trying to think about the war anymore,, so he's dressed down. He has a half cape, half poncho both to evoke royalty and travel wear. His fabrics are also a lot brighter than Eurylochus, he's the king! He can have more expensive stuff. But honestly it's still pretty plain, they are coming home from a very long campaign. And of course, around his left wrist is Polites's headband (taken shamelessly from other artists, but especially WolfytheWitch). I also wanted to show my Odysseus has wavy hair, its just WET. He's also has some stress lines and age marks under his eyes. Wonder why THAT could be...
