For a long time, I dreamt about getting another reel-to-reel recorder like the one I had in the past. I always knew how fascinating and nostalgic this medium is, so when I finally got my first Akai again, it felt like a reunion with an old friend.

I refurbished the recorder myself to work as well as possible and started collecting old vintage tapes to record my own music.

This is when the idea of this channel was born. With each parcel full of tapes, I gave it a try and listened to what was hidden in there before completely wiping it down. It was then that I realized each mixtape is living history, recorded as the favorite songs of someone else’s life. Many of these reels are sold on eBay as packs found in attics and basements of someone's parents or grandparents. When listening to their favorites, I felt a strange need to preserve these memories and share them with you here, so you can also travel back in time through these mixtapes.
