Established in 1949, The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, ACTEC, is a national nonprofit association of approximately 2,400 lawyers and law professors, peer-elected to membership by demonstrating the highest level of integrity, commitment to the profession, expertise, and experience as trust and estate counselors. ACTEC members (referred to as âFellowsâ) have extensive experience in one or more practice areas relating to trusts and estates, including among others: estate and gift tax planning, preparation of revocable and irrevocable trusts and wills; probate; trust administration; trust guardianship and conservatorship administration, fiduciary income taxation; asset protection planning; elder law; employee benefits planning; and charitable planning. ACTEC and its Fellows are committed to the improvement and reform of probate, trust, and tax laws and procedures, and professional practice standards.
