University of Three Generations is a similar concept of the University of the Third Age, which was founded in France in 1973 with the aim of providing education and stimulate mainly retired members of the community - those in their third 'age' of life. From the history of the U3A, it can be concluded that its central focus is on the third 'age' of the associated members life only. However, U3G - in Nepal - has incorporated a broader concept of empowering and involving three generations: youth, working men and women, and retired groups of senior citizens to lead and transform the society.
