We are a Christian Tissier inspired Aikido club lead by Phil Rozier, 5th dan Aikikai, in Brighton, England. We hold classes and seminars regularly. Beginners and practitioners of all levels and styles are welcome!
Aikido is an empty-handed, weapons-derived martial-art with an emphasis on harmonising with the movement of an attacker. The name itself roughly translates to The Way of Harmonising Energy.
Through training we learn to physically and mentally exhaust aggression; to prevent or neutralise violence when it confronts or tempts us.
Developed in Japan by Morihei Ueshiba during the last century, the spirit of his teaching evolves today through many who have been inspired by his skill and philosophy.
