Jimly School of Law and Government (JSLG) is the name given to this institution based on the following considerations.
Jimly refers to the name of Prof. Dr. Jimly Asshiddiqie, S.H., a public figure who is widely known as the first Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia (MKRI) (2003-2008) in Indonesian history and one of the leading experts in constitutional law in Indonesia.
