American singer-songwriter Roland Kent LaVoie, better known by his stage name Lobo, shot to stardom in the early 1970s after cracking the Top 5 on the Billboard charts with his single āMe and You and a Dog Named Booā, which eventually went gold. Throughout his career, Lobo has released 16 studio albums, charted 8 Top 40 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 including 3 in the Top Ten, 13 Top 25 Hits on the Billboard Adult Contemporary charts including 9 in the Top Ten and 4 No. 1ās, and toured around the globe, especially in Asia. His unforgettable song āIād Love You to Want Meā hit No. 1 in almost every country.
Not only is Lobo considered a singer-songwriter, but also a producer, producing many of his own songs, as well as other artistās tracks, including Jim Staffordās smash hit āSpiders and Snakesā. Interestingly enough, Lobo never looked for fame, never wanted to be in the spotlight.
