State Award in Weaving:

Maruthi Manchi has been recognized as one of the best handloom silk saree weavers for designing and weaving a special raising kuttu saree. He was also honored with the State Award by the Central Silk Board and the Government of Karnataka on the occasion of National Handloom Day in 2016.

National Award in Weaving :

The National Handloom Development Corporation Limited held a national-level handloom weaving competition on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhiji’s 150th birth centenary. A total of 35 contestants from different states across the country participated.

Maruthi Manchi wove a pure silk shawl that portrays Mahatma Gandhiji and other great freedom fighters. For this highly skillful handwoven work, Maruthi Manchi was recognized and honored with the National Award.
