Q: Where did you grow up?
A: In Redwood City, California.
Q: When did you first start playing music?
A: I got my first guitar when I was 8 years old. I started singing and playing out when I was 13.
Q: What was your first guitar?
A: It was a black Fender Strat.
Q: When did you write your first song?
A: The first song that I recognize as a viable song, I wrote when I was 15 or 16.
Q: What are your main influences for songwriting?
A: I write songs when I feel an emotion so powerful that I can't get it out without music. What comes out is usually that emotion put into music, the way I feel it anyways...

A: Elliott Smith, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, The Black Keys, Ben Harper, stuff like that.
Q: What is your goal with music?
A: If I can be to one other person what my favorite artists have been to me, then I consider myself a success. The best way I can see to do that is have as many people as possible hear my music.
