Since 1947 ... science for the sport.
The German Sport University Cologne, founded in Cologne in 1947, combines qualified teaching, international research and competitive sport at the highest level. It is Germany's only university that is exclusively dedicated to the field of sport and exercise. While sports science exists alongside many other subject areas at other universities, the situation in Cologne is unusual: at 20 institutes, four affiliated institutes and nine scientific centers, the diverse and exciting field of sports science is examined in detail in all its facets .
