Tom's Farm is an urban oasis in the heart of Wandsworth London. A rare breeds farm based in Nightingale Community Academy, a special needs provision for boys aged 5-19 diagnosed with social, emotional and mental health needs. The farm was established in 2009 by Tom's Trust in memory of Tom ap Rhys Pryce who was tragically killed as a result of knife crime. Toms' Farm was established as a therapy resource, allowing the students to develop skills such as care and empathy. During its ten-year journey, Tom's Farm has undergone many changes and adaptations in order to survive and develop. During the school's academy conversion in 2016, the farm has moved from strength to strength becoming a key part of the vocational curriculum, educating both internal and external students in animal care, horticulture and landbased studies working with exam boards such as AQA, BTEC and City and Guilds. Education of young people and conservation of Native breeds of Livestock work harmoniously as our ethos.
