My woodturning journey started out after my brother-in-law showed my husband and I a bowl he had made using epoxy and wood. I had seen other bowls he had turned before while always beautiful. I hadn't given it much thought on how he had made them.
That day on our trip home my husband said you should get a lathe. Now mind you I had never been around or even seen a wood lathe. Of course I was all in. Hahaha crazy Lady
I promptly went to what I call the YouTube University and started my education. As I watched videos on woodturning I paid careful attention to how people were holding their tools and the direction they were moving. I still wasn't brave enough to put a piece on the lathe. After 3 months I finally used 1948 Delta 1236. Once I did I was hooked. My methods may still be a little rough but the beautiful pieces I can make still amaze me. I am proud to call myself a female turner and artist. In short, never stop learning and always be brave!
